Iga Swiatek has dismissed reports that she is planning to skip the grasscourt season, including Wimbledon.

The world number two was, according to reports in Polish media, facing burn out, and planning on taking a break after the French Open to recharge the batteries before returning to the court for the US Open series.

However, Swiatek shot down those suggestions, adding "during the past few days I saw a million comments that were not true."

Swiatek, who has not won a title since the French Open almost a year ago, was also critical of the veracity of stories emerging about her in her in the Polish media.

"There are so many theories right now, I would say especially in Polish media about me, that are not true," she told reporters in Rome on the eve of the Italian Open. "You guys like to make some articles that will attract people. I get it. It's part of the job."

Swiatek: 'I'm not going to skip Wimbledon'

And regarding Wimbledon, Swiatek is keen to make improvements on a surface she has generally struggled, notwithstanding her junior title at SW19.

"For sure I'm not going to skip Wimbledon," Swiatek continued in her press conference. "I really want to learn how to play on grass better. Every year is another opportunity. I will play Wimbledon, for sure, unless I get injured."

Swiatek has reached the quarters or further in every tournament she has played in 2025. In Rome she reflected on that consistency:

"Yeah, for sure I'm happy with the consistency. This is something that I always want. There's no tournament where I go in and I'm like not prepared. Obviously, yeah, there have been some where I lost matches in quarters or semis, but I feel like still it's a good result on court.

"I might be harsh on myself. Later on when I reflect and I have time to just see this first part of the season from a different perspective, I'm for sure proud of the consistency. Still I feel like I'm the most kind of consistent as I was previous years.

"But for sure I want to also win some tournaments. That's also the goal."

Will Iga Swiatek win the French Open in 2025?

  • Yes

  • No

Swiatek also highlighted something that has been undermining her in 2025. "This year I feel like I am struggling a bit more with my perfectionism. I want to focus on being disciplined on the court and making right choices, not the choices that sometimes pop out in my head, but being really solid. I think I can do that. This is my main focus now."
